Mistakes?
Yup I've made my share. In fact I've made a mountain of them. My addiction has hurt many people especially my family.
This may sound somewhat cold, but I don't let my mistakes bother me, I close the door on my past. I can't change what I did.
It's good to make mistakes, it's the only way we learn, provided we do learn from them.
But regrets? Regrets, that's the mother of all negativity. Regretting the past is interest paid on debt, or bad debt.
I'm happy with where I am in life. I'm also a great believer in "everything happens for a reason." Let's look at that cup of milk you spilt and the time it took you to clean it up.
Who knows maybe had you not stopped to clean the milk up, you may have gotten run over by a car. See my point?
I think my being an alcoholic or addict has helped me toughen myself up. I have done so many embarrassing things while intoxicated, and if I took even a second to hide under the umbrella of shame, regret I could never move on in life. That's a fact jack.
It's so easy to say, and even harder to do, but "don't worry about it" and worrying and regretting the past only serves to hold one back.
My next blog I'll talk about "the law of attraction" or "you are what you think."
What helped me at a young age is my late brother Barry told me: "be your own hero and star in your own movie." I did.
My point? Life is an adventure grab it, embrace it and enjoy every second of it.
